Now I am going to get into why we are all gaining so much weight. Especially as we get older. If you are like me, we seem to be eating the same food we did when we were teenagers, but now we are all getting fat and tired. So why are we getting fatter now, even though we are eating the same foods we ate years ago and were fit and trim and could run, work and play all day and all night?

I am now going to answer Why am I gaining weight no matter how much I diet and exercise? It’s a long answer and covers lots of information from different types of foods and how they affect us, hormones and why hormones are the key to us being skinny and losing weight and the science and chemistry behind everything that is causing us to gain weight, get fat and be exhausted no matter what we do.
Here we go...
It really amazes me that more people are exercising and dieting then any time in the history of mankind and yet so many people are fat, overweight obese and terribly sick. How did we get this way. Everyone know some elderly person either your great-grandmother or your best friends great-grandmother who lived to be 100 years old in the ate eggs every day, they cooked in butter and lard, they drank whole fat milk and they even ate white bread and yet they still lived relatively healthy lives.
The only reason why people died to the early age back then was because there were many illnesses and diseases that medical science did not have the cure to at that time. Now medical science is able to cure many of those diseases of past that would normally kill a person. And with this being said, even though Doctors and medicine can keep people living longer, most people are more sick and dying of Heart attacks, stroke, diabetes and a multitude of other serious health problems. It's terribly sad that nowadays all you see is people that are in their 20 and 30 big diagnosed with diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglyceride levels and thyroid issues like hypothyroidism and even hyperthyroidism.
Both men and women are suffering with breast cancer in their 20s and 30s and 40s as opposed to in their 60s and 70s as was the case in years past. Usually the people that were going for heart surgeries years ago were smoking 6 packs of cigarettes a day but even now 40-year-old man who exercise regularly and who do not smoke or suffering from heart disease and needing bypass surgery.
And people in their 50s are being diagnosed with mental diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia. So this does nothing but prove my point that even though we are supposedly eating well and everyone is exercising in the majority of people have stopped smoking we as a general society are just simply more sick than we have ever been through the generations of humankind.
And simply put in my opinion it's because of the food that we are eating. If you look at the food that our great-grandparents and even her grandparents consumed during their life it was quite different from the food that we are reading present day. Our food is processed.
Our grandparents and her great-grandparents eat hardly any processed food at all. The only thing that I would see my great-grandfather eat would be white bread. Everything else that he consumed during the course of his life was either beef chicken or fish, vegetables and potatoes. Now he did enjoy a good glass of wine at the end of the day. But this was wine that he made himself from grapes that he grew himself.
My grandparents did not eat processed sugar, the processed starchy carbohydrates and they ate real butter instead of fake butter margarine. If you look at everything that they ate during their lifetime it's what we would consider to be an organic diet. My grandfather's diet consisted of fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, eggs that were from farm raised chickens, beef that was from grass fed cattle and they even drank all whole milk delivered to their doors each and every morning. And their food definitely did not contain any pesticides.
And our great-grandparents eat plenty of good healthy fats like butter and olive oil. In fact people like my grandmother cooked almost every single meal in lard. But if you look at our present-day diet most of what we eat is processed. All of the foods that we are eating have been genetically modified in one way or another. People that come into my office looking for help with losing weight and improving their health and wellness discuss their daily diet with me.
Sadly the majority of them are eating very low fat type foods and lots of foods that contain some type of processed grain and they also contain lots of bad oils like vegetable oil. And people cannot believe when I tell them that they can stop drinking their skim milk and fat-free milk and stop eating their fat-free foods and start enjoying good healthy foods that contain lots of nutritious healthy fats.
Today's society has been misguided and misinformed. They believe that a diet that is void of good healthy fat is the road to true health and wellness. But the truth is that you when you remove all of the good healthy fats from your diet and eat nothing but starchy grains like microwavable cinnamon raisin flavored oatmeal and powdered sugar jelly donuts you are on your way to sickness and obesity.
And in reading this you may say well microwavable cinnamon raisin flavored oatmeal is certainly better than a powdered sugar jelly doughnut but believe it or not they both cause the same damage to your body. When they both are metabolized your body converts them into sugar and this just totally destroys your body's chemistry.
It totally knocks your body’s hormone levels out of sync. And you have been misled into believing that good healthy fats in the foods that contain them like eggs, grass fed butter, whole milk, coconut oil, avocados and a small amount of nuts and seeds will cause heart disease and make you fat.
When the studies that were done many years ago that condemned all of these good healthy fat containing foods the guidelines were not as strict as they are today. Not only did they give the participants in the study these fatty foods but they also gave them a tremendous amount of grain products like bread, pasta and rice and they even put white sugar in their coffee.
So it is the combination of all those starchy unhealthy grains like bread, pasta and rice and white sugar that actually plaqued up their arteries and gave these people heart disease. Recent studies that instead gave the people lots of good healthy fat containing foods and a small amount of the starchy grain carbohydrates proved that consuming the good healthy fats and minimizing the amount of starchy grains of the person eats during the course of the day does help improve overall health and wellness, helps decrease cholesterol and even helps stabilize the sugar levels and insulin levels in a person's body.
So forget about the diet recommendations of following a low-fat diet, drinking fruit juice all day, eating sugar loaded cereals and eating lots of fat-free dairy each and every day of your life and most definitely forget about eating fat-free foods.
What you don't realize is that when the manufacturers produce these fat-free foods they usually put a ton of sugar in them to make them tasty. And they do this because your body craves and needs two things to burn for fuel. Your body burns either good healthy fat link to all of oil, flaxseed, olives and coconut oil and avocados or it burns sugar for fuel. And that is why your body craves good healthy fats and sugar.
So when the manufacturers remove the fat from these food products the taste absolutely terrible so they replaced a good healthy fat with sugar. And they do this because if they removed the healthy fats and they did not put the sugar in there instead you would not eat the food product, because it would taste terribly horribly horrendously bad.
So if you want to suffer from heart disease and obesity go ahead and follow this low-fat diet. But if you want to be healthy start adding some good healthy fats to your diet. And really minimize the amount of starchy grain carbohydrates that you are eating as well as the sugar.
The yellow part of the egg that everyone is telling you not to eat has the highest amount of vitamins such as vitamin D, E and even beta-carotene. So why are they telling you not to eat the egg yellow when eating nothing but the white of the egg gives you a minimal amount of protein. In fact eating the white and yellow of the egg together actually allows your body to absorb and utilize more protein from the egg whites compared to if you just ate the egg white alone.
Now everyone has heard about the Mediterranean diet. You see everyone online, on Facebook in the social media talking about the Mediterranean diet and health healthy it is for you. And I see a ton of people online saying that they lost so much weight following the Mediterranean diet. Well, the Mediterranean diet, the true Mediterranean diet has as much as 40% of their calories from good healthy fats.
And if you look at the people who live in the Mediterranean territories they have the lowest incidence of cancer and heart disease. Even though there is presently a big olive oil kick going on, people still don't realize that Olive oil is a good healthy fat.
So when people are going on a diet to lose weight and they are eating the typically recommended low-fat diet most people fail miserably. They don't lose weight and just get fat and sick! And the reason they fail is that because they are always hungry.
They have stopped eating their eggs for breakfast and are now eating cereal. Believe it or not some people come to me telling me that they are eating frosted flakes instead of eggs for breakfast. And when I tell them that frosted flakes has so much sugar in them that they are eating the same amount of sugar as if they were eating 10 candy bars.
And they start eating salads with low-fat dressing that is loaded with nothing but sugar and chemicals produced in some factory someplace.When they should be using good old fashion olive oil with mixed with some type of vinegar and then lots of herbs and spices.
It's the good healthy fats that satisfy your appetite and eliminate your hunger. Instead of eating your cakes and pastries and cereals and protein bars you should be eating lots of good healthy fats like olives, nuts, olive oil, avocados and even grass fed butter. These are all the tickets on the train of health wellness and being slim and trim.
When you are eating the starchy carbohydrates, grains and foods that are loaded with sugar it increases the insulin levels in your body and causes most of your hormones to go out of their normal healthy balance. When your insulin is at high levels your body will store every calorie from every piece of food that you eat as body fat.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes I tested my blood sugar levels every 30 minutes. I made a chart of each and every food that I had eaten and what my sugar levels were. Almost everything spiked my sugar levels. The only thing that did not spike my blood sugar levels was good healthy fat and small portions of protein like chicken and fish.
You see the good healthy fats actually help stabilize your blood sugar levels, they take away your hunger, they make you feel that your appetite has been satisfied and they help decrease your cravings. So for me during the course of the day I am eating lots of good healthy fats like whole farm fresh eggs, coconut oil, grass fed butter and organic beef chicken and fish. I also eat a significant amount of vegetables.
And I eat very little starchy grains like bread, pasta or rice. I do drink coffee with some half-and-half or heavy cream and I do use Stevia as a sweetener. I will enjoy a small baked potato a few times a week and I might even have some French fries once in a while. And of course I'm getting my Dunkin' Donuts coffee first thing in the morning and then later on in the afternoon if I succumb to the temptation I might even enjoy a little taste of a corn muffin along with my coffee.
So my dietary recommendation is to start eating good healthy fats, and reduce the number of starch carbohydrates and grains like your pasta, rice and bread and you will start to lose weight, balance out and level your sugar and insulin levels and actually satisfy your hunger and eliminate your cravings.
The reason why the low-fat diet failed so miserably is that when it was first recommended they did not really understand how it affected all of the hormones in your body.
This is especially true for the hormone called insulin. Insulin is one of the major hormones in your body and it's a hormone that causes your body to store fat. Whenever you are eating food and it contains lots of sugar this will increase your insulin levels – your body's production of insulin and this causes those calories from the food to be stored as fat.
When you are following a diet that is low in good healthy fats and high in starchy carbohydrates such as grains this forces your pancreas to make a tremendous amount of insulin so that it can handle all of the sugar that you are putting into your body.Too much sugar in your body will actually damage your tissues and organs so your body produces extra insulin to keep it out of your bloodstream.
When your body is over-producing the amount of insulin you actually start forming the bad cholesterol called triglycerides – fat molecules and you will gain weight, body fat. And when your bad cholesterol levels are increasing it increases your chances of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
This is why everyone is gaining weight even though most of us are exercising and dieting more than ever in the entire lifespan of this country. But it's okay if you tried losing weight and you have failed at it or if you've lost a bunch of weight and just gained it all back over time it's not really her fault.
You have been doing everything that you have been told to do it's just that the information that you were given happen to be wrong. I'm sorry to say this and I know it sounds quite blunt but there is no other way to explain to you that the reason why you have not been able to lose weight and keep the weight off is because you have been following bad information.
And what I am telling you in this article here is the latest information on diet, health, wellness and being fit and healthy. Everything that I'm telling you is based on reports and studies that have taken all of the information on diet food and nutrition over the span of time and we have the luxury of hind-sight.
Just like if I was to go back in time with all the information that I already know now I would've made so many different choices in my life but sadly none of us have a time machine and are able to do that. But when it comes to health, wellness and losing weight we do have the benefit of being able to go back in time, not with a time machine, but with all of the reports and studies that have been done throughout the years, and we are able to see where mistakes were made.
And sadly I made the same mistakes. I followed all the nutritional recommendations and they just have made me fat and diabetic. Not until becoming diabetic did I finally take the initiative to look into the studies and papers and discover what was truly the best way to be healthy.
And luckily for me changing the way that I was eating every day not only helped decrease my sugar and insulin levels and enabled me to get my diabetes under control without having to inject insulin several times a day. Another benefit was losing weight. So not only does eating this way improve your health it will make you skinnier. It will make you healthy. So now I not only feel very good but I am told that I look good as well.
So the truth is that eating too much sugar, starchy grains are causing most of the diseases and illnesses that we are suffering from today. And that just by changing your diet you can improve your health in so many ways.
If you look at the countries in this world that consume lots of good healthy fats, Like avocados, grass fed butter, olive oil, olives and certain nuts; heart disease, diabetes and obesity are almost nonexistent. These countries include Japan, Thailand and France.
The French people eat a tremendous amount of fat and yet they are healthy slim and trim. They are eating delicious foods like foie gras, which is duck or goose livers, escargot dipped in full fat butter and lots of other rich and creamy meals.
Now believe me I know most of us find this very difficult to believe that you can eat all of this delicious, rich and creamy food and still be healthy and skinny but compare the people living in French eating this way to the people that are living in our country and there is no denying that we are so much more overweight and sicker than they are.
If you look at all of the research and studies that are presently being done the evidence is overwhelmingly clear that eating good healthy fats do not make you sick, they do not give you heart disease and they do not cause you to gain weight and make you obese. Instead they do exactly the opposite. Good healthy fats are totally necessary for your body to function at 100%.
They are necessary for the systems of your body to perform all of the duties that are needed to keep you alive and healthy. The evidence shows that eating good healthy fats stabilizes your blood sugar levels, table lies is your insulin and decreases your cravings and they make your tummy nice and full.
Remember that eating lots of foods that convert into sugar causes your body to produce more insulin and this causes your body to store the sugar as body fat and increase your triglycerides, increase your body fat and increases your chances of suffering from a heart attack or stroke.
Medical professionals, especially those that are current in research studies and clinical testing now know that eating good healthy fats helps satisfy your appetite, hunger and cravings.
They now know that losing weight and being healthy is not so much about counting calories it's all about your hormones. When your hormones are out of sync this is what causes us to gain weight and be sick.
When you are eating sugar despite her insulin and this will make you feel hungrier and this will cause you to eat more. That's why most people nowadays are constantly hungry all day long because they are just eating foods that have no nutritional value the only thing that they do is to convert into sugar when they are metabolized by your body and spike your insulin levels and then this will again cause your body to store all of these calories as body fat.
I know I have said this multiple times in this article but this is so important that it's necessary to drive it home hard. I don't know about you but when I started using low-fat milk and creamers for my coffee it seemed that I was adding a whole lot more milk and creamer to my coffee as compared to what I was just putting full fat milk or full fat heavy cream.
Look at the people next to you and Wawa when they are making their coffee and they are putting in their low-fat cream or skim milk you will usually see them adding some low-fat milk or full fat heavy cream into their coffee because if they did not there would not be any flavor in the coffee.
And personally when I'm putting heavy cream in my coffee it will actually satisfy my appetite. So because of this most mornings my breakfast consists of a nice big coffee within nice amount of heavy cream and one or 2 packets of Splenda or Stevia. This totally eliminates my appetite until lunchtime.
And I finally realized that when I am eating food for breakfast and eating 2 or 3 eggs with a side of turkey bacon that my appetite is satisfied for a much longer amount of time than after I am eating a bowl of oatmeal.
I hope most of you now realize that you are eating them big bowl of cinnamon raisin oatmeal or that big bowl of sugar frosted cereal that you are just eating so many more calories that have no nourishment and nothing but sugar in them and this is just going to make you sick and overweight.
And please remember that eating these types of foods are going to spike your in and when your insulin levels are high you are going to be more hungry. It's not about having no willpower it's all about your body's chemistry and your bodies hormones. So when you're eating these sugar foods it spikes your insulin and when your insulin levels are high you are going to be more hungry and more calories are going to be stored as body fat.
So it's not a lack of willpower that is making you overweight it's all about your body's chemistry in your body's hormones.
This is why the weight loss, diet pills and appetite suppressant medications are so successful and often times necessary if you want to lose weight and be healthy.
And this is why most people need to take and appetite suppressant medication like phentermine and the other diet and weight loss pills because if you have a chemical or hormonal problem with your body usually you will need to treat with a chemical type of treatment and this is exactly what the medication weight loss pills are.

Here is a list of common foods that we each and every day that are foods that are loaded with sugar and they make us fat:
Eating 5 – 6 of any of these foods from this list each and every day is not helping your waistline. Not only are these foods making you overweight but they are also destroying your health because they actually damage the cells, Organs and tissues of your body.
Just picture this take a nice make slice of white bread and put it in a glass of water. What happens? The bread soaks up all of the water and turns into a cookie type of pasty type of blob. This is what happens when you eat these types of foods they basically clog up the arteries and blood vessels and organs of your body.
All these foods that turn into sugar when they are metabolized by your body destroy the tissues and actually calls you to age more quickly and increases your bad cholesterol and causes plaque to build up in your arteries. And all of this with the increased placating of your arteries makes you more susceptible to suffering from some type of heart disease.
This is especially true for people like myself who are diabetic because of all the problems with sugar and insulin levels we are much more likely to suffer from a heart attack or stroke and that will actually make you look older much more quickly. This is why most people with diabetes just gain more and more weight over time and they just become more sick over time.
The problem with diabetes is that your body is not able to balance the insulin levels to correlate with the amount of sugar that is in your body but the major problem with diabetes is that it leads to so many other diseases like heart attack and strokes and this is what causes many people that have diabetes to die early.
The majority of people that have diabetes eventually die from some type of heart disease or stroke. It's an ugly fact that most people just don't realize. And with everyone following a diet that is high in starchy carbohydrates and grains the majority of this are on the path to diabetes, heart attack and stroke. Except for those of you that are reading this article and are finally going to do something about it.
It's all really simple when your pancreas produces more insulin the cells of your body become resistant to insulin and the reason for this is because they are trying to shield themselves from the harmful effects of insulin and in order to do that the have to decrease their sensitivity to insulin.
Some of the cells of your body do this more quickly than others. Usually the liver is the first organ that becomes insulin resistant, next are the muscles of your body and then finally your body fat. And as more organs of your body become more insulin resistant the more insulin is actually produced by your pancreas.
This has become so commonplace in our society that medical doctors now expect to see high insulin levels with several different types of diseases. Diseases that are usually associated with high insulin levels are cancer, stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, infertility, high cholesterol and even Alzheimer's disease.
After many years of eating a low fat high starchy carbohydrate diet your pancreas will eventually become fatigued and it will not be able to produce enough insulin and when this happens you will be told by your doctor that you have type II diabetes.
Believe it or not there was a time in history when type II diabetes was also called senile diabetes and the reason for this is because people are usually not diagnosed with this condition until they were between the ages of 60 – 70 years old.
But nowadays, children are being diagnosed with diabetes every single day. Over the past decade the diagnosis for diabetes has increased hundred percent. It's estimated that approximately 25 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with diabetes and about 60 million more have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic.
As our diet evolved into a low-fat high starchy carbohydrate diet type II diabetes went from being called senile diabetes to being called adult onset diabetes for the simple fact that people were now being diagnosed with diabetes in their early 40s.
And believe it or not once again diabetes has been given a different name. It is now being called a charity onset diabetes of the young because so many young people are now being diagnosed with diabetes because of our poor diet.
It's a shame that children are now suffering from type II diabetes and her having to take medications and in my opinion and if you read the literature it seems that this is because of the humongous amount of sugar that children are now eating. They are eating and drinking sodas, jellies, pastries, fruit juices, cereal and so cold fat-free food products.
Not only does a low-fat high starch a carbohydrate type of diet make you fat it also affects several other hormones in your body. If you look in most biochemistry books insulin is called the master hormone. It's called the master hormone because it controls so many other hormones in our body. It affects our growth hormone, progesterone, estrogen and testosterone.
And because of this window hormones become out of balance it can cause so many other diseases such as heart disease, anxiety, infertility, depression and osteoporosis.
So following a low-fat high starchy carbohydrate diet makes you fat in disturbs the hormonal equilibrium of your body and it also causes many vitamin deficiencies. Because so many people have eliminated good healthy fats from their diet they have caused themselves to be deficient in many nutrients such as your essential fatty acids and vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E and vitamin K. And all of this can lead to many type of diseases and illnesses including skin diseases.
Now the question is how do you know if your body is deficient in good healthy fats?
So if you answer yes to any of these following questions you probably are fat deficient:
Like I said if you have answered yes to any of these questions you are probably fat deficient in this means that your body is overproducing insulin.
This means that you need help.
You need to change your diet in order to improve your health and wellness. Most of us that are eating this type of diet are doing so because we have been told that this is the right thing to do in order to be healthy and live a long life but in reality the damage from this type of diet can be hidden and occurring at your body's cellular level.
Meaning, that you could be suffering from some type of cancer, clogged arteries and other serious illnesses and not even know it. Again more often than not these type of diseases are correlated with having higher insulin levels.
Good healthy fats give nourishment and nutrition to the organs that produce our sex hormones. When you stop eating the good healthy fats it's only natural that your sex hormones are going to decrease and this is the reason why many women are now going through menopause at an early age and the reason why many men are becoming impotent or suffering from erectile dysfunction at early ages.
Instead of eating foods that are loaded with essential fatty acids like your omega-3 fatty acids that are abundant in eggs, nuts and fish, people are eating foods that are high in your not so healthy and make a 6 fatty acids that are found in oils that are highly processed like your vegetable oils, corn oil and even soybean oil.
And by the way these vegetable oils have been linked to the development of cancer in people. Sadly people have been given bad information they are being told by supposedly authority agencies like the American Heart Association to eliminate butter, coconut and palm oil from their diet in order to improve their heart health. They're telling people to instead eat polyunsaturated oils, like corn oil, soybean oil and even cottonseed oil.
All of these polyunsaturated oils are processed type of foods they will destroy your health. I have many patients that I consult for improving their overall health and wellness and even helping them lose weight and I have them eating lots of good healthy fats like grass fed butter, virgin coconut oil and yes even palm oil.
Because of our I want it now society we are all eating fast food and almost everything that they make is cooked in polyunsaturated oils. And this is doing nothing but accelerating the clogging of our arteries and giving us heart disease, heart attacks and strokes at early ages.
In the past the normal person ate less than 1 pound of the polyunsaturated oils over the course of the year. But present-day most people consume over 67 pounds of polyunsaturated oils during one year. Even though modern medicine is keeping us alive longer our society is much more sick than it was a century ago.
In today’s world we eat way too much polyunsaturated oils so much so that if we continue it’s going to kill us. Nowadays it’s normal for most people to eat up to 40% of their calories each and every day of their life from polyunsaturated man-made oils.
And most of the current literature shows us that this is definitely much more than we should be eating in the course of a day. On the other hand omega-3 and omega 6 fatty acids or what we should be eating because they are essential fatty acids. And they are given the name essential fatty acids because they are necessary for her overall health and wellness but our body does not produce them on it’s own.
Our body needs to be fed certain types of food and then it metabolizes these foods into the essential fatty acids that are necessary for our health and wellness. These essential fatty acids come from eating foods like fish, nuts and eggs. It’s usually recommended that you try to balance out one omega 3 fatty acid to each omega 6 fatty acid. Presently this balance is out of whack for most people because they are consuming lots of omega 6 fatty acids in the form of vegetable oils.
And this is one of the reasons why everyone is suffering from serious health issues like cancer, diabetes, depression etc. Just to put it simply when our body is not being fed enough to make it 3 fatty acids and we are eating too many of the bed polyunsaturated oils it weakens the various cells of our body and this makes us sick.
For some reason the medical establishment has been recommending that we all eat corn oil and soybean oil and these are nothing but polyunsaturated oils the just of improvement to make us sick. And most people I know arts taking some type of prescription medication because their cholesterol levels are so high but sadly they are telling us to eat corn oil and soybean oil and all these type of oils do is increase our bed cholesterol levels and are bad triglycerides.
So they are actually telling us to eat foods that make us sick and cause high cholesterol and then they turn around and give us prescription medication to treat the high cholesterol levels. Honestly I am all for taking prescription medication if you need it but before you have to do was cut out eating corn oil and soybean oil why not just do that instead of taking a medication. It’s proven that good healthy fats like olive oil and coconut oil help decrease high cholesterol levels.
So forget about cooking with your vegetable oil and start using coconut oil instead. Honestly cholesterol is just going from your bloodstream and being pushed into the tissues of your body, the deeper levels of tissue in your body in order to increase the strength of the cells. And the end result of consuming these large amounts of polyunsaturated oils is our arteries being filled with plaque. To make it even worse these type of oils become even more dangerous when you feed them.
Everyone I know is cooking their food with vegetable oil and all this does is make them more deadly for us. The heating of these oils causes the formation of free radicals and they are nothing but electrons that cause damage to your cells. Also damage the cholesterol levels in your body, the good cholesterol and this leads to you getting wrinkles and looking old before your time, plaqueing up your arteries and eventually could lead to some type of cancer.
So getting rid of these types of oils is definitely something that you should do if you want to be healthy.
Whether you want to hear it or not eating too many of these polyunsaturated oils and an excessive amount of omega 6 fatty acids has been associated with the following diseases: heart disease, cancer, thyroid disease, aging skin, depression, premature aging, asthma and stroke.
Now, let me introduce you to the brother of polyunsaturated fat that is equally as devastating to our health and well-being. Let me introduce you to trans fats. If you like chemistry then you’ll appreciate this little bit of information.
In order to make these types of fats the food manufacturers and a hydrogen atom to it. And doing this makes it especially dangerous for us. This type of fat is totally not meant to be consumed by the human body. It is like an alien from Mars coming to earth and invading our planet.
But since we have been consuming so many of this bad fat sometimes cells are built in our body from these bad oils and they eventually become cancerous and affect the production of various chemicals and hormones in our body.
Believe it or not that margarine that you have been eating for breakfast each and every morning is a hydrogenated fat. Now you going to tell me that everyone has been telling you to eat margarine instead of butter. And I know this because I have been the told the same thing.
And for years I ate margarine instead of butter. And even though I was doing everything that I was being told I was supposed to do I was still getting fat, was still getting diagnosed with high cholesterol and high triglycerides and just getting more sick and not any better.
But when I stopped eating all of these bad fats that I’m telling you about I finally started to lose weight and regain my good health.
So who for me in my health and wellness nutrition clients they are not allowed to eat margarine. And I’m going to list the reasons why I do not want him eating bad fats like margarine.
These types of fats interrupt the production of insulin, and this can make you overweight and even cause you to become diabetic. They also cause a decrease in the hormone called leptin, and that’s a hormone that helps with controlling your hunger. It also can possibly cause various types of allergies.
It disturbs one of the enzymes of the body that’s used to make your adrenal hormones. They also wreak havoc with our male and female sex hormones and these affect our youth, keeping us young and or fertility. They also increase the levels of the low density lipoproteins which are your bad cholesterols. They increase the chances of you suffering from a heart attack or stroke in developing different types of serious life-threatening cancers. It can possibly cause women to be infertile as well as men.
Shockingly, just like I mentioned above in this article that the medical establishment, the American Heart Association and even the national cholesterol education program recommended eating margarine all the way through most of the 1990s. And this is why that I myself, a health and wellness specialists and practitioner of holistic medicine ate margarine every day for years.
And I wonder how much of the illnesses that I have experienced over my lifetime have been caused because I was following bad nutritional advice. I’m not saying that they give us the information on purpose. But nonetheless they gave us these recommendations.
Luckily, this information has been almost epidemic on various websites online so most people realize that you should not eating these bad type of fats. But I hate to tell you that still to this day people still come into my office wanting to lose weight and improve some type of illness and they actually brag about how they eat margarine every day on white toast and they think they are being healthy.
They actually wear this as a badge of honor, so to speak, they tell me that they eat the right way and I don’t know why I am fat and I do not know why I am sick. And I also had to tell you that if you are eating fast food most of the time you’re probably eating lots of these bad fats and fatty acids.
These trans fats, like margarine are just like plastic.
Once you eat them they become part of your cells and disrupt the communications between all of the cells of your body. This happens because they are far into your body. And this is when illnesses like cancer develop.
When your cells can talk to each other it eventually will cause sugar and other type of nutrients to stay in your bloodstream longer than they should truly be there and that causes the cells to become damaged and causes them to be less responsive to various hormones like insulin.
Because of this your pancreas starts making more insulin because of all these these nutrients staying so much longer in your bloodstream. And by the way your insulin has already been overproduced because of tremendous amounts of sugar that you have been eating.
So now your body is totally messed up. When there is so much overproduction of insulin and the large amounts of insulin circulating to your body you are on the road to becoming sick and fat.
Or let me put that a little bit more politically correct, you are on the way to becoming overweight, obese and very very ill.
So if you want the list of things that you should stay away from here it is: fast food – because of the bad types of oils that are used in making these foods, margarine, frozen foods, hydrogenated vegetable oils, different types of man-made foods that are low fat food products containing hydrogenated oils, manmade, manufacturing low-carb food products containing hydrogen needed oils and vegetable shortenings.
Forget about just counting calories if you are trying to lose weight. In fact most weight loss specialists now tell us that counting calories is totally obsolete if you are looking to lose weight.
We are very fortunate with today’s science we now understand that losing weight and being healthy is more about having the proper levels of the various hormones in our body. And this is why the low-fat and eating large amounts of grains type of diet has failed miserably. T
he reason they fail is because they cause an imbalance in the amounts of hormones that are body produces.
Whether you realize it or not, the amount of hormones and type of hormones that are body produces is influence by all of the foods that we eat in all the beverages that we drink.
So whether you’re eating protein, vegetables, good healthy fats or carbohydrates and sugars; all of these in some way affect the hormonal system and production of her body.
And the levels of stress, amount of exercise and relaxation; basically the way we live her life also has an effect upon the hormones in our body.
When I was in my teens and in my 20s I was in fantastic shape. Then the 30s came around and I slowly started to gain weight. I gained about 2 pounds and possibly 3 pounds every year and over time this added up. I was counting my calories and eating lots of supposed to good healthy greens and following a low-fat diet and I was just getting more fat.
I was totally baffled how I was gaining weight even though I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing to be fit and healthy. And of course as I was growing older my responsibilities increased but having a family, a career and being responsible of course my stress levels went through the roof.
And instead of spending time meditating, exercising or just enjoying a beautiful sunny day in the park I was stressing and straining over my responsibilities and working. I hate to admit it but this is more common for most of us than we would like to admit.
We all realize that we should be exercising a little bit more and we should be trying to enjoy life a little bit more but because of work and responsibilities of our career, family and everything else there is not much time left in the day to take care of ourselves.
For years I went about my daily routine even though I was exhausted most of the time. Not only was I working in the office all day long but I was taking work with me home and working late at night early into the morning.
I was surviving just on coffee most of the time. And when the coffee was not enough I would eat whatever I could get my hands on like a cookie or candy bar. I basically stuff myself with anything that would give me a nice sugar rush and a quick burst of energy.
Of course within an hour or so I would usually crash and then I would just load up on more caffeine and more sugar. You can see this was just a deadly cycle that was going to make me sick that an old before my time.
On top of this there was lots of times when I was eating fast food or microwavable dinners. I thought that I was doing myself a world of good by eating the microwavable dinners that were supposedly conducive for losing weight and just following the calorie recommendations.
But in spite of living myself to 1600 calories a day I was still just getting fat. So even though I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing by watching my calories, eating low fat and eating lots of grains I was just getting fat and my health was deteriorating.
The reason this was happening is because my body was being beat up by all of the stress and strain of my everyday life and following a diet that was knocked truly the way for me to be fit and healthy.
All I was doing was increasing the levels of bad hormones like cortisol and decreasing the reduction of my growth hormone and spiking the levels of insulin in my bloodstream because of the foods that I was eating and because of my lack of sleep.
So all of the things that I was doing was a formula that just made becoming sick in fact inevitable.
And let’s not forget all of the man-made, processed foods that I was eating every day.
Nothing that I was eating was grown in the ground or came off of a tree. My meals consisted of eating foods that when I looked on the label I didn’t understand half of the words that were printed there. On top of that I was eating way too much protein, sugar substitutes, salt, milk products and the various assortment of chemicals.
Most of these foods were man-made, processed foods and we put them into our body it causes an allergic reaction so when a sense these foods are treated like they are poison or a toxin by our body system.
I’m sorry to tell you that the protein bar that you are eating is man-made it’s not real food, it’s processed food. And even though most of us like the convenience of being able to eat quick and easy protein bar we will be much better served by eating a good healthy protein like eggs with lots of vegetables.
And everyone is eating salads all day long. I see men weighing over 300 pounds stuffing their faces with huge salads when I go for lunch during the day.
But they cover them with salad dressings that are processed foods, they are man-made and are not good for us if we are trying to lose weight and even worse for us if we are trying to be healthy. So this explains why everyone is eating nothing but salad all day long and they are just continue to get fatter and fatter.
Take your bottle of salad dressing turned around and look at the label. Try to read the ingredients.
First of all the text is so microscopically small that you need a microscope to read it. And once you finally get your magnifying glass or reading glasses and you are able to read what’s printed you will not understand at least 99% of all the words that are supposed to be the ingredients to the salad dressing.
And this is because 99% of the ingredients are chemicals. You should not be eating them. They’re just making you sick and fat. And when you’re eating these types of foods all it does is stimulate the types of hormones that your body produces that tells your mind that you are still hungry.
Eating these types of food what just increase the production of a chemical called leptin. In leptin is one of the hormones that tells your body if you are still hungry or if you are totally stuffed.
Here is the label of a salad dressing that was sitting in my pantry. Partially hydrogenated soybean oil – this is a processed food, dye number 5 – this is a chemical, high fructose corn syrup – this is another man-made food/chemical, natural and artificial flavors – artificial flavors are man-made chemicals, preservatives to maintain freshness – my question is are these preservatives going to preserve my body (just like a mummy).
So there you have it you can plainly see that most of this is nothing but chemicals. And these chemicals are going to mess up our hormones and just make us fat. So eating salads all day long is totally useless if you’re going to be soaking them in these man-made processed food types of salad dressings.

Now I am going to get into why we are all gaining so much weight. Especially as we get older. If you are like me, we seem to be eating the same food we did when we were teenagers, but now we are all getting fat and tired. I am now going to answer Why am I gaining weight no matter how much I diet and exercise? It’s a long answer and covers lots of information from different types of foods and how they affect us, hormones and why hormones are the key to us being skinny and losing weight and the science and chemistry behind everything that is causing us to gain weight, get fat and be exhausted no matter what we do.

It really amazes me that more people are exercising and dieting then any time in the history of mankind and yet so many people are fat, overweight obese and terribly sick. How did we get this way. Everyone know some elderly person either your great-grandmother or your best friends great-grandmother who lived to be 100 years old in the ate eggs every day, they cooked in butter and lard, they drank whole fat milk and they even ate white bread and yet they still lived relatively healthy lives.
The only reason why people died to the early age back then was because there were many illnesses and diseases that medical science did not have the cure to at that time. Now medical science is able to cure many of those diseases of past that would normally kill a person. And with this being said, even though Doctors and medicine can keep people living longer, most people are more sick and dying of Heart attacks, stroke, diabetes and a multitude of other serious health problems. It's terribly sad that nowadays all you see is people that are in their 20 and 30 big diagnosed with diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglyceride levels and thyroid issues like hypothyroidism and even hyperthyroidism.
Both men and women are suffering with breast cancer in their 20s and 30s and 40s as opposed to in their 60s and 70s as was the case in years past. Usually the people that were going for heart surgeries years ago were smoking 6 packs of cigarettes a day but even now 40-year-old man who exercise regularly and who do not smoke or suffering from heart disease and needing bypass surgery.
And people in their 50s are being diagnosed with mental diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia. So this does nothing but prove my point that even though we are supposedly eating well and everyone is exercising in the majority of people have stopped smoking we as a general society are just simply more sick than we have ever been through the generations of humankind.
And simply put in my opinion it's because of the food that we are eating. If you look at the food that our great-grandparents and even her grandparents consumed during their life it was quite different from the food that we are reading present day. Our food is processed.
Our grandparents and her great-grandparents eat hardly any processed food at all. The only thing that I would see my great-grandfather eat would be white bread. Everything else that he consumed during the course of his life was either beef chicken or fish, vegetables and potatoes. Now he did enjoy a good glass of wine at the end of the day. But this was wine that he made himself from grapes that he grew himself.
My grandparents did not eat processed sugar, the processed starchy carbohydrates and they ate real butter instead of fake butter margarine. If you look at everything that they ate during their lifetime it's what we would consider to be an organic diet. My grandfather's diet consisted of fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, eggs that were from farm raised chickens, beef that was from grass fed cattle and they even drank all whole milk delivered to their doors each and every morning. And their food definitely did not contain any pesticides.
And our great-grandparents eat plenty of good healthy fats like butter and olive oil. In fact people like my grandmother cooked almost every single meal in lard. But if you look at our present-day diet most of what we eat is processed. All of the foods that we are eating have been genetically modified in one way or another. People that come into my office looking for help with losing weight and improving their health and wellness discuss their daily diet with me.
Sadly the majority of them are eating very low fat type foods and lots of foods that contain some type of processed grain and they also contain lots of bad oils like vegetable oil. And people cannot believe when I tell them that they can stop drinking their skim milk and fat-free milk and stop eating their fat-free foods and start enjoying good healthy foods that contain lots of nutritious healthy fats.
Today's society has been misguided and misinformed. They believe that a diet that is void of good healthy fat is the road to true health and wellness. But the truth is that you when you remove all of the good healthy fats from your diet and eat nothing but starchy grains like microwavable cinnamon raisin flavored oatmeal and powdered sugar jelly donuts you are on your way to sickness and obesity.
And in reading this you may say well microwavable cinnamon raisin flavored oatmeal is certainly better than a powdered sugar jelly doughnut but believe it or not they both cause the same damage to your body. When they both are metabolized your body converts them into sugar and this just totally destroys your body's chemistry.
It totally knocks your body’s hormone levels out of sync. And you have been misled into believing that good healthy fats in the foods that contain them like eggs, grass fed butter, whole milk, coconut oil, avocados and a small amount of nuts and seeds will cause heart disease and make you fat.
When the studies that were done many years ago that condemned all of these good healthy fat containing foods the guidelines were not as strict as they are today. Not only did they give the participants in the study these fatty foods but they also gave them a tremendous amount of grain products like bread, pasta and rice and they even put white sugar in their coffee.
So it is the combination of all those starchy unhealthy grains like bread, pasta and rice and white sugar that actually plaqued up their arteries and gave these people heart disease. Recent studies that instead gave the people lots of good healthy fat containing foods and a small amount of the starchy grain carbohydrates proved that consuming the good healthy fats and minimizing the amount of starchy grains of the person eats during the course of the day does help improve overall health and wellness, helps decrease cholesterol and even helps stabilize the sugar levels and insulin levels in a person's body.
So forget about the diet recommendations of following a low-fat diet, drinking fruit juice all day, eating sugar loaded cereals and eating lots of fat-free dairy each and every day of your life and most definitely forget about eating fat-free foods.
What you don't realize is that when the manufacturers produce these fat-free foods they usually put a ton of sugar in them to make them tasty. And they do this because your body craves and needs two things to burn for fuel. Your body burns either good healthy fat link to all of oil, flaxseed, olives and coconut oil and avocados or it burns sugar for fuel. And that is why your body craves good healthy fats and sugar.
So when the manufacturers remove the fat from these food products the taste absolutely terrible so they replaced a good healthy fat with sugar. And they do this because if they removed the healthy fats and they did not put the sugar in there instead you would not eat the food product, because it would taste terribly horribly horrendously bad.
So if you want to suffer from heart disease and obesity go ahead and follow this low-fat diet. But if you want to be healthy start adding some good healthy fats to your diet. And really minimize the amount of starchy grain carbohydrates that you are eating as well as the sugar.
The yellow part of the egg that everyone is telling you not to eat has the highest amount of vitamins such as vitamin D, E and even beta-carotene. So why are they telling you not to eat the egg yellow when eating nothing but the white of the egg gives you a minimal amount of protein. In fact eating the white and yellow of the egg together actually allows your body to absorb and utilize more protein from the egg whites compared to if you just ate the egg white alone.
Now everyone has heard about the Mediterranean diet. You see everyone online, on Facebook in the social media talking about the Mediterranean diet and health healthy it is for you. And I see a ton of people online saying that they lost so much weight following the Mediterranean diet. Well, the Mediterranean diet, the true Mediterranean diet has as much as 40% of their calories from good healthy fats.
And if you look at the people who live in the Mediterranean territories they have the lowest incidence of cancer and heart disease. Even though there is presently a big olive oil kick going on, people still don't realize that Olive oil is a good healthy fat.
So when people are going on a diet to lose weight and they are eating the typically recommended low-fat diet most people fail miserably. They don't lose weight and just get fat and sick! And the reason they fail is that because they are always hungry.
They have stopped eating their eggs for breakfast and are now eating cereal. Believe it or not some people come to me telling me that they are eating frosted flakes instead of eggs for breakfast. And when I tell them that frosted flakes has so much sugar in them that they are eating the same amount of sugar as if they were eating 10 candy bars.
And they start eating salads with low-fat dressing that is loaded with nothing but sugar and chemicals produced in some factory someplace.When they should be using good old fashion olive oil with mixed with some type of vinegar and then lots of herbs and spices.
It's the good healthy fats that satisfy your appetite and eliminate your hunger. Instead of eating your cakes and pastries and cereals and protein bars you should be eating lots of good healthy fats like olives, nuts, olive oil, avocados and even grass fed butter. These are all the tickets on the train of health wellness and being slim and trim.
When you are eating the starchy carbohydrates, grains and foods that are loaded with sugar it increases the insulin levels in your body and causes most of your hormones to go out of their normal healthy balance. When your insulin is at high levels your body will store every calorie from every piece of food that you eat as body fat.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes I tested my blood sugar levels every 30 minutes. I made a chart of each and every food that I had eaten and what my sugar levels were. Almost everything spiked my sugar levels. The only thing that did not spike my blood sugar levels was good healthy fat and small portions of protein like chicken and fish.
You see the good healthy fats actually help stabilize your blood sugar levels, they take away your hunger, they make you feel that your appetite has been satisfied and they help decrease your cravings. So for me during the course of the day I am eating lots of good healthy fats like whole farm fresh eggs, coconut oil, grass fed butter and organic beef chicken and fish. I also eat a significant amount of vegetables.
And I eat very little starchy grains like bread, pasta or rice. I do drink coffee with some half-and-half or heavy cream and I do use Stevia as a sweetener. I will enjoy a small baked potato a few times a week and I might even have some French fries once in a while. And of course I'm getting my Dunkin' Donuts coffee first thing in the morning and then later on in the afternoon if I succumb to the temptation I might even enjoy a little taste of a corn muffin along with my coffee.
So my dietary recommendation is to start eating good healthy fats, and reduce the number of starch carbohydrates and grains like your pasta, rice and bread and you will start to lose weight, balance out and level your sugar and insulin levels and actually satisfy your hunger and eliminate your cravings.
The reason why the low-fat diet failed so miserably is that when it was first recommended they did not really understand how it affected all of the hormones in your body.
This is especially true for the hormone called insulin. Insulin is one of the major hormones in your body and it's a hormone that causes your body to store fat. Whenever you are eating food and it contains lots of sugar this will increase your insulin levels – your body's production of insulin and this causes those calories from the food to be stored as fat.
When you are following a diet that is low in good healthy fats and high in starchy carbohydrates such as grains this forces your pancreas to make a tremendous amount of insulin so that it can handle all of the sugar that you are putting into your body.Too much sugar in your body will actually damage your tissues and organs so your body produces extra insulin to keep it out of your bloodstream.
When your body is over-producing the amount of insulin you actually start forming the bad cholesterol called triglycerides – fat molecules and you will gain weight, body fat. And when your bad cholesterol levels are increasing it increases your chances of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
This is why everyone is gaining weight even though most of us are exercising and dieting more than ever in the entire lifespan of this country. But it's okay if you tried losing weight and you have failed at it or if you've lost a bunch of weight and just gained it all back over time it's not really her fault.
You have been doing everything that you have been told to do it's just that the information that you were given happen to be wrong. I'm sorry to say this and I know it sounds quite blunt but there is no other way to explain to you that the reason why you have not been able to lose weight and keep the weight off is because you have been following bad information.
And what I am telling you in this article here is the latest information on diet, health, wellness and being fit and healthy. Everything that I'm telling you is based on reports and studies that have taken all of the information on diet food and nutrition over the span of time and we have the luxury of hind-sight.
Just like if I was to go back in time with all the information that I already know now I would've made so many different choices in my life but sadly none of us have a time machine and are able to do that. But when it comes to health, wellness and losing weight we do have the benefit of being able to go back in time, not with a time machine, but with all of the reports and studies that have been done throughout the years, and we are able to see where mistakes were made.
And sadly I made the same mistakes. I followed all the nutritional recommendations and they just have made me fat and diabetic. Not until becoming diabetic did I finally take the initiative to look into the studies and papers and discover what was truly the best way to be healthy.
And luckily for me changing the way that I was eating every day not only helped decrease my sugar and insulin levels and enabled me to get my diabetes under control without having to inject insulin several times a day. Another benefit was losing weight. So not only does eating this way improve your health it will make you skinnier. It will make you healthy. So now I not only feel very good but I am told that I look good as well.
So the truth is that eating too much sugar, starchy grains are causing most of the diseases and illnesses that we are suffering from today. And that just by changing your diet you can improve your health in so many ways.
If you look at the countries in this world that consume lots of good healthy fats, Like avocados, grass fed butter, olive oil, olives and certain nuts; heart disease, diabetes and obesity are almost nonexistent. These countries include Japan, Thailand and France.
The French people eat a tremendous amount of fat and yet they are healthy slim and trim. They are eating delicious foods like foie gras, which is duck or goose livers, escargot dipped in full fat butter and lots of other rich and creamy meals.
Now believe me I know most of us find this very difficult to believe that you can eat all of this delicious, rich and creamy food and still be healthy and skinny but compare the people living in French eating this way to the people that are living in our country and there is no denying that we are so much more overweight and sicker than they are.
If you look at all of the research and studies that are presently being done the evidence is overwhelmingly clear that eating good healthy fats do not make you sick, they do not give you heart disease and they do not cause you to gain weight and make you obese. Instead they do exactly the opposite. Good healthy fats are totally necessary for your body to function at 100%.
They are necessary for the systems of your body to perform all of the duties that are needed to keep you alive and healthy. The evidence shows that eating good healthy fats stabilizes your blood sugar levels, table lies is your insulin and decreases your cravings and they make your tummy nice and full.
Remember that eating lots of foods that convert into sugar causes your body to produce more insulin and this causes your body to store the sugar as body fat and increase your triglycerides, increase your body fat and increases your chances of suffering from a heart attack or stroke.
Medical professionals, especially those that are current in research studies and clinical testing now know that eating good healthy fats helps satisfy your appetite, hunger and cravings.
They now know that losing weight and being healthy is not so much about counting calories it's all about your hormones. When your hormones are out of sync this is what causes us to gain weight and be sick.
When you are eating sugar despite her insulin and this will make you feel hungrier and this will cause you to eat more. That's why most people nowadays are constantly hungry all day long because they are just eating foods that have no nutritional value the only thing that they do is to convert into sugar when they are metabolized by your body and spike your insulin levels and then this will again cause your body to store all of these calories as body fat.
I know I have said this multiple times in this article but this is so important that it's necessary to drive it home hard. I don't know about you but when I started using low-fat milk and creamers for my coffee it seemed that I was adding a whole lot more milk and creamer to my coffee as compared to what I was just putting full fat milk or full fat heavy cream.
Look at the people next to you and Wawa when they are making their coffee and they are putting in their low-fat cream or skim milk you will usually see them adding some low-fat milk or full fat heavy cream into their coffee because if they did not there would not be any flavor in the coffee.
And personally when I'm putting heavy cream in my coffee it will actually satisfy my appetite. So because of this most mornings my breakfast consists of a nice big coffee within nice amount of heavy cream and one or 2 packets of Splenda or Stevia. This totally eliminates my appetite until lunchtime.
And I finally realized that when I am eating food for breakfast and eating 2 or 3 eggs with a side of turkey bacon that my appetite is satisfied for a much longer amount of time than after I am eating a bowl of oatmeal.
I hope most of you now realize that you are eating them big bowl of cinnamon raisin oatmeal or that big bowl of sugar frosted cereal that you are just eating so many more calories that have no nourishment and nothing but sugar in them and this is just going to make you sick and overweight.
And please remember that eating these types of foods are going to spike your in and when your insulin levels are high you are going to be more hungry. It's not about having no willpower it's all about your body's chemistry and your bodies hormones. So when you're eating these sugar foods it spikes your insulin and when your insulin levels are high you are going to be more hungry and more calories are going to be stored as body fat.
So it's not a lack of willpower that is making you overweight it's all about your body's chemistry in your body's hormones.
This is why the weight loss, diet pills and appetite suppressant medications are so successful and often times necessary if you want to lose weight and be healthy.
And this is why most people need to take and appetite suppressant medication like phentermine and the other diet and weight loss pills because if you have a chemical or hormonal problem with your body usually you will need to treat with a chemical type of treatment and this is exactly what the medication weight loss pills are.
For some people the elevated levels of sugar in their blood stream have destroyed good healthy tissues and organs and if this has happened to a person this is why they need to be on some type of weight loss pill for a long time. And this is one of the primary reasons why so many new weight-loss pills are being approved by the FDA. They realize that so many people do need to be on some type of weight loss medication for the rest of their life just like people need to be on high blood pressure medication for the rest of their life.
Here is a list of common foods that we each and every day that are foods that are loaded with sugar and they make us fat:
- Cake
- Candy
- Cereals
- Crackers
- Danishes
- Fat-free yogurt
- fruit flavored yogurt
- Fruit juices
- Jellies and jams
- Muffins
- Pancakes
- Pasta
- Pizza
- Soda
- Sports drinks
- Flavored water
- White sugar and any other types of sugar
- White bread
- White rice
- Waffles
- Pop tarts
- so if you are eating any of these foods you are just making yourself sick and overweight.
Eating 5 – 6 of any of these foods from this list each and every day is not helping your waistline. Not only are these foods making you overweight but they are also destroying your health because they actually damage the cells, Organs and tissues of your body.
Just picture this take a nice make slice of white bread and put it in a glass of water. What happens? The bread soaks up all of the water and turns into a cookie type of pasty type of blob. This is what happens when you eat these types of foods they basically clog up the arteries and blood vessels and organs of your body.
All these foods that turn into sugar when they are metabolized by your body destroy the tissues and actually calls you to age more quickly and increases your bad cholesterol and causes plaque to build up in your arteries. And all of this with the increased placating of your arteries makes you more susceptible to suffering from some type of heart disease.
This is especially true for people like myself who are diabetic because of all the problems with sugar and insulin levels we are much more likely to suffer from a heart attack or stroke and that will actually make you look older much more quickly. This is why most people with diabetes just gain more and more weight over time and they just become more sick over time.
The problem with diabetes is that your body is not able to balance the insulin levels to correlate with the amount of sugar that is in your body but the major problem with diabetes is that it leads to so many other diseases like heart attack and strokes and this is what causes many people that have diabetes to die early.
The majority of people that have diabetes eventually die from some type of heart disease or stroke. It's an ugly fact that most people just don't realize. And with everyone following a diet that is high in starchy carbohydrates and grains the majority of this are on the path to diabetes, heart attack and stroke. Except for those of you that are reading this article and are finally going to do something about it.
It's all really simple when your pancreas produces more insulin the cells of your body become resistant to insulin and the reason for this is because they are trying to shield themselves from the harmful effects of insulin and in order to do that the have to decrease their sensitivity to insulin.
Some of the cells of your body do this more quickly than others. Usually the liver is the first organ that becomes insulin resistant, next are the muscles of your body and then finally your body fat. And as more organs of your body become more insulin resistant the more insulin is actually produced by your pancreas.
This has become so commonplace in our society that medical doctors now expect to see high insulin levels with several different types of diseases. Diseases that are usually associated with high insulin levels are cancer, stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, infertility, high cholesterol and even Alzheimer's disease.
After many years of eating a low fat high starchy carbohydrate diet your pancreas will eventually become fatigued and it will not be able to produce enough insulin and when this happens you will be told by your doctor that you have type II diabetes.
Believe it or not there was a time in history when type II diabetes was also called senile diabetes and the reason for this is because people are usually not diagnosed with this condition until they were between the ages of 60 – 70 years old.
But nowadays, children are being diagnosed with diabetes every single day. Over the past decade the diagnosis for diabetes has increased hundred percent. It's estimated that approximately 25 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with diabetes and about 60 million more have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic.
As our diet evolved into a low-fat high starchy carbohydrate diet type II diabetes went from being called senile diabetes to being called adult onset diabetes for the simple fact that people were now being diagnosed with diabetes in their early 40s.
And believe it or not once again diabetes has been given a different name. It is now being called a charity onset diabetes of the young because so many young people are now being diagnosed with diabetes because of our poor diet.
It's a shame that children are now suffering from type II diabetes and her having to take medications and in my opinion and if you read the literature it seems that this is because of the humongous amount of sugar that children are now eating. They are eating and drinking sodas, jellies, pastries, fruit juices, cereal and so cold fat-free food products.
Not only does a low-fat high starch a carbohydrate type of diet make you fat it also affects several other hormones in your body. If you look in most biochemistry books insulin is called the master hormone. It's called the master hormone because it controls so many other hormones in our body. It affects our growth hormone, progesterone, estrogen and testosterone.
And because of this window hormones become out of balance it can cause so many other diseases such as heart disease, anxiety, infertility, depression and osteoporosis.
So following a low-fat high starchy carbohydrate diet makes you fat in disturbs the hormonal equilibrium of your body and it also causes many vitamin deficiencies. Because so many people have eliminated good healthy fats from their diet they have caused themselves to be deficient in many nutrients such as your essential fatty acids and vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E and vitamin K. And all of this can lead to many type of diseases and illnesses including skin diseases.
Now the question is how do you know if your body is deficient in good healthy fats?
So if you answer yes to any of these following questions you probably are fat deficient:
- Are you overweight or totally obese?
- Have you failed at losing weight on low-fat diets?
- Are you hungry all the time?
- Do you have little or absolutely no control over your appetite?
- Do you feel tired and fatigued every time you eat some type of starchy carbohydrate like rice, pancakes, pasta or waffles?
- Are you hungry a couple hours after eating a bagel, doughnut or any other type of cake?
- Are you craving sugary snacks all of the time?
Like I said if you have answered yes to any of these questions you are probably fat deficient in this means that your body is overproducing insulin.
This means that you need help.
You need to change your diet in order to improve your health and wellness. Most of us that are eating this type of diet are doing so because we have been told that this is the right thing to do in order to be healthy and live a long life but in reality the damage from this type of diet can be hidden and occurring at your body's cellular level.
Meaning, that you could be suffering from some type of cancer, clogged arteries and other serious illnesses and not even know it. Again more often than not these type of diseases are correlated with having higher insulin levels.
Good healthy fats give nourishment and nutrition to the organs that produce our sex hormones. When you stop eating the good healthy fats it's only natural that your sex hormones are going to decrease and this is the reason why many women are now going through menopause at an early age and the reason why many men are becoming impotent or suffering from erectile dysfunction at early ages.
Instead of eating foods that are loaded with essential fatty acids like your omega-3 fatty acids that are abundant in eggs, nuts and fish, people are eating foods that are high in your not so healthy and make a 6 fatty acids that are found in oils that are highly processed like your vegetable oils, corn oil and even soybean oil.
And by the way these vegetable oils have been linked to the development of cancer in people. Sadly people have been given bad information they are being told by supposedly authority agencies like the American Heart Association to eliminate butter, coconut and palm oil from their diet in order to improve their heart health. They're telling people to instead eat polyunsaturated oils, like corn oil, soybean oil and even cottonseed oil.
All of these polyunsaturated oils are processed type of foods they will destroy your health. I have many patients that I consult for improving their overall health and wellness and even helping them lose weight and I have them eating lots of good healthy fats like grass fed butter, virgin coconut oil and yes even palm oil.
Because of our I want it now society we are all eating fast food and almost everything that they make is cooked in polyunsaturated oils. And this is doing nothing but accelerating the clogging of our arteries and giving us heart disease, heart attacks and strokes at early ages.
In the past the normal person ate less than 1 pound of the polyunsaturated oils over the course of the year. But present-day most people consume over 67 pounds of polyunsaturated oils during one year. Even though modern medicine is keeping us alive longer our society is much more sick than it was a century ago.
In today’s world we eat way too much polyunsaturated oils so much so that if we continue it’s going to kill us. Nowadays it’s normal for most people to eat up to 40% of their calories each and every day of their life from polyunsaturated man-made oils.
And most of the current literature shows us that this is definitely much more than we should be eating in the course of a day. On the other hand omega-3 and omega 6 fatty acids or what we should be eating because they are essential fatty acids. And they are given the name essential fatty acids because they are necessary for her overall health and wellness but our body does not produce them on it’s own.
Our body needs to be fed certain types of food and then it metabolizes these foods into the essential fatty acids that are necessary for our health and wellness. These essential fatty acids come from eating foods like fish, nuts and eggs. It’s usually recommended that you try to balance out one omega 3 fatty acid to each omega 6 fatty acid. Presently this balance is out of whack for most people because they are consuming lots of omega 6 fatty acids in the form of vegetable oils.
And this is one of the reasons why everyone is suffering from serious health issues like cancer, diabetes, depression etc. Just to put it simply when our body is not being fed enough to make it 3 fatty acids and we are eating too many of the bed polyunsaturated oils it weakens the various cells of our body and this makes us sick.
For some reason the medical establishment has been recommending that we all eat corn oil and soybean oil and these are nothing but polyunsaturated oils the just of improvement to make us sick. And most people I know arts taking some type of prescription medication because their cholesterol levels are so high but sadly they are telling us to eat corn oil and soybean oil and all these type of oils do is increase our bed cholesterol levels and are bad triglycerides.
So they are actually telling us to eat foods that make us sick and cause high cholesterol and then they turn around and give us prescription medication to treat the high cholesterol levels. Honestly I am all for taking prescription medication if you need it but before you have to do was cut out eating corn oil and soybean oil why not just do that instead of taking a medication. It’s proven that good healthy fats like olive oil and coconut oil help decrease high cholesterol levels.
So forget about cooking with your vegetable oil and start using coconut oil instead. Honestly cholesterol is just going from your bloodstream and being pushed into the tissues of your body, the deeper levels of tissue in your body in order to increase the strength of the cells. And the end result of consuming these large amounts of polyunsaturated oils is our arteries being filled with plaque. To make it even worse these type of oils become even more dangerous when you feed them.
Everyone I know is cooking their food with vegetable oil and all this does is make them more deadly for us. The heating of these oils causes the formation of free radicals and they are nothing but electrons that cause damage to your cells. Also damage the cholesterol levels in your body, the good cholesterol and this leads to you getting wrinkles and looking old before your time, plaqueing up your arteries and eventually could lead to some type of cancer.
So getting rid of these types of oils is definitely something that you should do if you want to be healthy.
Whether you want to hear it or not eating too many of these polyunsaturated oils and an excessive amount of omega 6 fatty acids has been associated with the following diseases: heart disease, cancer, thyroid disease, aging skin, depression, premature aging, asthma and stroke.
Now, let me introduce you to the brother of polyunsaturated fat that is equally as devastating to our health and well-being. Let me introduce you to trans fats. If you like chemistry then you’ll appreciate this little bit of information.
In order to make these types of fats the food manufacturers and a hydrogen atom to it. And doing this makes it especially dangerous for us. This type of fat is totally not meant to be consumed by the human body. It is like an alien from Mars coming to earth and invading our planet.
But since we have been consuming so many of this bad fat sometimes cells are built in our body from these bad oils and they eventually become cancerous and affect the production of various chemicals and hormones in our body.
Believe it or not that margarine that you have been eating for breakfast each and every morning is a hydrogenated fat. Now you going to tell me that everyone has been telling you to eat margarine instead of butter. And I know this because I have been the told the same thing.
And for years I ate margarine instead of butter. And even though I was doing everything that I was being told I was supposed to do I was still getting fat, was still getting diagnosed with high cholesterol and high triglycerides and just getting more sick and not any better.
But when I stopped eating all of these bad fats that I’m telling you about I finally started to lose weight and regain my good health.
So who for me in my health and wellness nutrition clients they are not allowed to eat margarine. And I’m going to list the reasons why I do not want him eating bad fats like margarine.
These types of fats interrupt the production of insulin, and this can make you overweight and even cause you to become diabetic. They also cause a decrease in the hormone called leptin, and that’s a hormone that helps with controlling your hunger. It also can possibly cause various types of allergies.
It disturbs one of the enzymes of the body that’s used to make your adrenal hormones. They also wreak havoc with our male and female sex hormones and these affect our youth, keeping us young and or fertility. They also increase the levels of the low density lipoproteins which are your bad cholesterols. They increase the chances of you suffering from a heart attack or stroke in developing different types of serious life-threatening cancers. It can possibly cause women to be infertile as well as men.
Shockingly, just like I mentioned above in this article that the medical establishment, the American Heart Association and even the national cholesterol education program recommended eating margarine all the way through most of the 1990s. And this is why that I myself, a health and wellness specialists and practitioner of holistic medicine ate margarine every day for years.
And I wonder how much of the illnesses that I have experienced over my lifetime have been caused because I was following bad nutritional advice. I’m not saying that they give us the information on purpose. But nonetheless they gave us these recommendations.
Luckily, this information has been almost epidemic on various websites online so most people realize that you should not eating these bad type of fats. But I hate to tell you that still to this day people still come into my office wanting to lose weight and improve some type of illness and they actually brag about how they eat margarine every day on white toast and they think they are being healthy.
They actually wear this as a badge of honor, so to speak, they tell me that they eat the right way and I don’t know why I am fat and I do not know why I am sick. And I also had to tell you that if you are eating fast food most of the time you’re probably eating lots of these bad fats and fatty acids.
These trans fats, like margarine are just like plastic.
Once you eat them they become part of your cells and disrupt the communications between all of the cells of your body. This happens because they are far into your body. And this is when illnesses like cancer develop.
When your cells can talk to each other it eventually will cause sugar and other type of nutrients to stay in your bloodstream longer than they should truly be there and that causes the cells to become damaged and causes them to be less responsive to various hormones like insulin.
Because of this your pancreas starts making more insulin because of all these these nutrients staying so much longer in your bloodstream. And by the way your insulin has already been overproduced because of tremendous amounts of sugar that you have been eating.
So now your body is totally messed up. When there is so much overproduction of insulin and the large amounts of insulin circulating to your body you are on the road to becoming sick and fat.
Or let me put that a little bit more politically correct, you are on the way to becoming overweight, obese and very very ill.
So if you want the list of things that you should stay away from here it is: fast food – because of the bad types of oils that are used in making these foods, margarine, frozen foods, hydrogenated vegetable oils, different types of man-made foods that are low fat food products containing hydrogenated oils, manmade, manufacturing low-carb food products containing hydrogen needed oils and vegetable shortenings.
Forget about just counting calories if you are trying to lose weight. In fact most weight loss specialists now tell us that counting calories is totally obsolete if you are looking to lose weight.
We are very fortunate with today’s science we now understand that losing weight and being healthy is more about having the proper levels of the various hormones in our body. And this is why the low-fat and eating large amounts of grains type of diet has failed miserably. T
he reason they fail is because they cause an imbalance in the amounts of hormones that are body produces.
Whether you realize it or not, the amount of hormones and type of hormones that are body produces is influence by all of the foods that we eat in all the beverages that we drink.
So whether you’re eating protein, vegetables, good healthy fats or carbohydrates and sugars; all of these in some way affect the hormonal system and production of her body.
And the levels of stress, amount of exercise and relaxation; basically the way we live her life also has an effect upon the hormones in our body.
When I was in my teens and in my 20s I was in fantastic shape. Then the 30s came around and I slowly started to gain weight. I gained about 2 pounds and possibly 3 pounds every year and over time this added up. I was counting my calories and eating lots of supposed to good healthy greens and following a low-fat diet and I was just getting more fat.
I was totally baffled how I was gaining weight even though I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing to be fit and healthy. And of course as I was growing older my responsibilities increased but having a family, a career and being responsible of course my stress levels went through the roof.
And instead of spending time meditating, exercising or just enjoying a beautiful sunny day in the park I was stressing and straining over my responsibilities and working. I hate to admit it but this is more common for most of us than we would like to admit.
We all realize that we should be exercising a little bit more and we should be trying to enjoy life a little bit more but because of work and responsibilities of our career, family and everything else there is not much time left in the day to take care of ourselves.
For years I went about my daily routine even though I was exhausted most of the time. Not only was I working in the office all day long but I was taking work with me home and working late at night early into the morning.
I was surviving just on coffee most of the time. And when the coffee was not enough I would eat whatever I could get my hands on like a cookie or candy bar. I basically stuff myself with anything that would give me a nice sugar rush and a quick burst of energy.
Of course within an hour or so I would usually crash and then I would just load up on more caffeine and more sugar. You can see this was just a deadly cycle that was going to make me sick that an old before my time.
On top of this there was lots of times when I was eating fast food or microwavable dinners. I thought that I was doing myself a world of good by eating the microwavable dinners that were supposedly conducive for losing weight and just following the calorie recommendations.
But in spite of living myself to 1600 calories a day I was still just getting fat. So even though I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing by watching my calories, eating low fat and eating lots of grains I was just getting fat and my health was deteriorating.
The reason this was happening is because my body was being beat up by all of the stress and strain of my everyday life and following a diet that was knocked truly the way for me to be fit and healthy.
All I was doing was increasing the levels of bad hormones like cortisol and decreasing the reduction of my growth hormone and spiking the levels of insulin in my bloodstream because of the foods that I was eating and because of my lack of sleep.
So all of the things that I was doing was a formula that just made becoming sick in fact inevitable.
And let’s not forget all of the man-made, processed foods that I was eating every day.
Nothing that I was eating was grown in the ground or came off of a tree. My meals consisted of eating foods that when I looked on the label I didn’t understand half of the words that were printed there. On top of that I was eating way too much protein, sugar substitutes, salt, milk products and the various assortment of chemicals.
Most of these foods were man-made, processed foods and we put them into our body it causes an allergic reaction so when a sense these foods are treated like they are poison or a toxin by our body system.
I’m sorry to tell you that the protein bar that you are eating is man-made it’s not real food, it’s processed food. And even though most of us like the convenience of being able to eat quick and easy protein bar we will be much better served by eating a good healthy protein like eggs with lots of vegetables.
And everyone is eating salads all day long. I see men weighing over 300 pounds stuffing their faces with huge salads when I go for lunch during the day.
But they cover them with salad dressings that are processed foods, they are man-made and are not good for us if we are trying to lose weight and even worse for us if we are trying to be healthy. So this explains why everyone is eating nothing but salad all day long and they are just continue to get fatter and fatter.
Take your bottle of salad dressing turned around and look at the label. Try to read the ingredients.
First of all the text is so microscopically small that you need a microscope to read it. And once you finally get your magnifying glass or reading glasses and you are able to read what’s printed you will not understand at least 99% of all the words that are supposed to be the ingredients to the salad dressing.
And this is because 99% of the ingredients are chemicals. You should not be eating them. They’re just making you sick and fat. And when you’re eating these types of foods all it does is stimulate the types of hormones that your body produces that tells your mind that you are still hungry.
Eating these types of food what just increase the production of a chemical called leptin. In leptin is one of the hormones that tells your body if you are still hungry or if you are totally stuffed.
Here is the label of a salad dressing that was sitting in my pantry. Partially hydrogenated soybean oil – this is a processed food, dye number 5 – this is a chemical, high fructose corn syrup – this is another man-made food/chemical, natural and artificial flavors – artificial flavors are man-made chemicals, preservatives to maintain freshness – my question is are these preservatives going to preserve my body (just like a mummy).
So there you have it you can plainly see that most of this is nothing but chemicals. And these chemicals are going to mess up our hormones and just make us fat. So eating salads all day long is totally useless if you’re going to be soaking them in these man-made processed food types of salad dressings.
